In 2013, I stumbled upon bitcoin.
I bought some, earned some, sold some, bought more, and repeated this process for the next several years until I dug deeper into what bitcoin was really about.
In 2020, I started mining cryptocurrency at home with a rig I built from scratch for less than $1,000. That’s been a fun hobby.
The biggest thing I’ve learned is that bitcoin represents financial optionality.
Bitcoin allows anyone, anywhere in the world to access financial services with nothing more than a temporary internet connection.
Bitcoin is both digital gold, incentivizing long term savings, and the native currency of the internet, enabling global transfers. In its simplest form, bitcoin is digital money. But, it’s so much more than that.
